Mr. Ibrahima THIAM is Electrical Engineer. Before its nomination in March 2009 at the position of Chairman of the ECOWAS Regional Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERERA), he was successively Director of Energy at the Commission of The West African Economic and Monetary (UEMOA), Managing Director of the Senegalese Rural Electrification Agency (ASER), then in 2005, President of the Electricity Sector Regulatory Commission of Senegal. Previously, Mr. THIAM had a career of Senior Officer at SENELEC, the Public Electricity Company of Senegal. During the performance of these various duties, Mr. THIAM was President of the Advisory Committee of the energy sector regulators of UEMOA Members States, Chairman of the Energy Sectoral Committee of the African Forum of Utility Regulators (AFUR), Chairman of Senegalese National Committee of the World Energy Council and President of the Think tank ''Savoir Plus”. M. THIAM was nominated KNIGHT of the LION NATIONAL ORDER since 2008
